About Me
I’m a CRLA certified tutor with a bachelor’s degree in English. I’m here to share some of the tricks I picked up while studying and tutoring literature and composition. I post writing advice and samples of my creative work.
My passion for English stems from a lifelong love of reading. I am still constantly learning and growing as a writer, and I hope we can share this journey together!
Thank you for your response to Journeytomanhood Blog. Grandpa
Where are you from Denaya? Just askin because o have poetry events coming up in London and I like your poems
I’m in Connecticut!
Your writing is unspeakably beautiful. If this is the beginning of your creative writing journey then I can’t imagine how far you’re going. There’s so much I want to say about your writing and your style and how deeply vulnerable it is even when (perhaps especially when) you’re fight the vulnerability in the writing.
I can’t wait to read more. Very inspired.
Thank you so much! I appreciate your support. 🙂
“Abandon your tendency to fake coherence”
“She’s nothing but a vivid replica created for the sense of stability”
“Do not take me at my word”
There are these recurring themes about how the you that we see is false: a replica; a toned down version, etc. There is also an accompanying fear that were you to finally give us the real you you may be left empty (out of ideas). Like you might be used up and devoured.
I find this to be really exciting intellectually and touching emotionally. It’s the ambivalence about being truly known that is so relatable.
I also love the aspect of your work in which you describe how you feel an “other-ness”; how you feel homeless in a sense.
It’s all very delicious and exciting.
Thank you so much for your insightful comment. I feel understood.
This poem somehow reminded me of your work.
AUTOPSYCHOGRAPHY
The poet is a faker
Who’s so good at his act
He even fakes the pain
Of pain he feels in fact.
And those who read his words
Will feel in his writing
Neither of the pains he has
But just the one they’re missing.
And so around its track
This thing called the heart winds,
A little clockwork train
To entertain our minds.
-Fernando Pessoa
That’s great, thank you!
Hey love your writing style, you have such a good way of painting a picture vividily of what you’re talking about that I’m still getting the hang off 🙂

I appreciate you liked my post, and I am glad I have reviewed yours. You have a distinct ability to fully describe what you observe, while leaving the reader to his own conclusions. A great talent, that.
What a great blog 🙂
